Job Description
Detail oriented with excellent communication and multitasking skills experienced individual to join our manufacturing company as a Tooling Engineer. As part of our team, you engage in all hands-on processes for developing and tooling parts and components. You report to the Senior Tooling Development Engineer, collaborating on larger projects and accomplishing assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner. You participate in the design of new parts and components and assist in refining existing tooling. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or professional experience within a manufacturing and design environment, and strong problem-solving and math skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following as other responsibilities may be assigned:
· Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering on the development of tooling concepts and initial engineering designs for build capabilities. Use concepts to provide detailed designs of the tooling required for the manufacturing processes.
· Meet with tooling team leaders to discuss preliminary designs, estimate times and work with them on prioritizing jobs. Order/Quote components as necessary to complete the task.
· Implement automation techniques, hydraulic processes, additive manufacturing, and provide schematic diagrams when required.
· Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control and Quality to enhance and maintain a fixture Preventive Maintenance Program. Responsible for maintaining a Preventive Maintenance program that systematically reviews and improves production fixtures. Review/approve outside vendor designs.
· Assist Manufacturing Engineers in design and development of new processes for the manufacture of new and existing parts.
· Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and tooling issues as assigned.
· Visit or make calls to vendors and current users of tool related technologies.
· Ensures departmental compliance with all applicable Techniform Policies and Procedures.
