We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will oversee database operations, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability across diverse environments. Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases in both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Design and implement optimized database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures to support high-performing applications.
• Monitor and enhance query performance using execution plans, indexing strategies, and SARGable query design.
• Develop and execute robust backup and disaster recovery strategies, including testing and documentation.
• Configure and maintain high availability solutions such as clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups.
• Administer PostgreSQL roles, permissions, replication strategies, and vacuum routines to ensure seamless operations.
• Enforce security protocols, including authentication, encryption, and role-based access control.
• Automate routine database tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell, T-SQL, Python, or Bash.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive alerts using observability tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data migration, cloud adoption, and Snowflake implementations.• 5–7+ years of experience demonstrating attention to detail as a Database Administrator managing Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL systems.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, high availability, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, tuning, and operational management.
• Practical experience with Snowflake, including data ingestion and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, T-SQL, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and root cause analysis for database health and performance.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and adhere to change management practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and effective communication.
