Summary
Toyoda Gosei Personnel Service is the company for the Japanese expatriates and some of TG North Americas' employees.
The Accounting Specialist functions with a moderate degree of autonomy and is responsible for providing professional level accounting for Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation (TGNA) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).
Engage in accounting-related work 80% of the time and HR-related work 20% of the time.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close
Complete assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes assuring US GAAP
Complete general ledger analyses and reconciliations regularly
Review and process AP/AR accruals monthly
Create department labor and expense budgets (quarterly, semi-annually, and annually typically)
Support as a resource in processing payroll and meeting accounting and tax requirements
Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (Kaizen)
This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
Three or more years of accounting experience is preferred
Proficiency in accounts payable processes is preferred
Bilingual oral and written skills in English and Japanese is required
Proficiency in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suites 2007 or newer is required
Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills with all staff and management are required
Sustaining a high degree of professionalism in interacting with internal and external customers is required
Effective attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills is required
Experience with ADP or UKG, and JD Edwards software is preferred
