AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (AIM)
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Aeronautical Information Management, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination and effective management of the International NOTAM Office and the AIM Publications Unit. This role involves overseeing the production, quality and timely dissemination of aeronautical information in accordance with the Civil Aviation Regulations 2012 and ICAO Annexes 4 and 15. The Manager-AIM ensures seamless collaboration among stakeholders in providing quality assured aeronautical products and services, essential for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in the Arts, Social Sciences or equivalent; and
Eight (8) years’ experience in the organization and management of Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) or the transitioned Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) in a civil aviation authority, ATS provider, airport or an international organization.
Experience in AIS automation, AIS transition to AIM and ISO 9001-2015; and.
Successful completion of ICAO Aeronautical Information Services Officer course (AIS021);
KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
In-depth knowledge of AIM Publications unit operations
In-depth knowledge of International NOTAM Office (NOF) operations.
In-depth knowledge of Aerodrome / Air Traffic Services Reporting Office (AD/ARO) operations.
In-depth knowledge of the structure and responsibilities of AIS/AIM
In-depth knowledge of the Aeronautical Information Products and Services
Sound knowledge of Civil Aviation Legislation, ICAO standards and recommended practices in respect of aeronautical information services/aeronautical information management, air traffic control, procedures for air traffic management in accordance with Annexes 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 14, 15, 19; and DOC 4444, 7910, 8126, 8400, 9839, 9859, 9881, 10066.
Sound knowledge of AIS/AIM Quality Management System
Sound knowledge of the structure of Kingston Flight Information Region (FIR)
General knowledge of Obstacle Evaluation and Procedures Development operations
General knowledge of Air Traffic Management Operations
KEY NON-TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Operations management, administrative and leadership skills
Ability to develop clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identify priorities and adjust as required.
Ability to remain resolute in obtaining aeronautical data/ information required for promulgation of appropriate aeronautical product or information from stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize key issues and analyse relevant information before making decisions and recommendations.
Ability to write clearly and concisely detailed technical and specialized reports and to make verbal presentations
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
