Strategic Product Management:
Manage the full product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to launch and iterative improvement.
Technical SME and drives vendors for products and solutions based on in depth knowledge and understanding of the product landscape and industry.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of products, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Establish and maintain a prioritized product backlog, ensuring clarity and alignment with stakeholder needs. Ability to think ahead and plan resources and tasks, to clearly align business requirements to backlog.
Ensure product scalability, resilience, and security throughout the development process.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product offerings with business objectives and emerging needs.
Champion the integration of the latest industry trends, including NFV, SASE/SSE, ZTNA, SD-WAN, and Micro-segmentation, into viable product solutions.
Plan and deploy a modern voice platform covering corporate and trader voice.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the network and security domains.
Guide PTx processes within the product division, ensuring optimal outcomes.
Lead cyclical budgeting and planning sessions, forecasting multi-year plans for network and security solutions.
Stay abreast of industry innovations and regulatory changes, anticipating challenges and identifying opportunities for product enhancement.
Deployment:
Guarantee that the network and security equipment are constructed in alignment with the organization's standards and baselines.
Advocate for automation, enhancing efficiency in end-to-end provisioning and deployment processes.
Engage with external vendors and contractors, specializing in network products and services, to assess options and curate optimal solutions.
Forge strong partnerships with the engineering, production, marketing, and sales departments, ensuring coordinated product development, QA, and release. Strategically allocate resources to bolster organizational success.
Operational Responsibilities:
Oversee and analyze network performance metrics, delivering comprehensive reports on system load, usage, and responsiveness.
Strategize and execute network upgrades to ensure peak performance and reliability.
Proactively identify and rectify network control gaps or defects, providing in-depth Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and action plans to mitigate recurring challenges.
Investigate, assimilate and draw on detailed problem solving across products in Infrastructure to identify unpredictable situations or complex problems. An expert and senior SME in problem solving.
Deliver expert diagnostic analyses on the network system, pinpointing potential faulty devices, and addressing module issues and overall network disruptions. Ensure meticulous documentation of all actions undertaken for transparency and future reference.
Champion the integration of software solutions, advocating for DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to enhance operational processes and outcomes.
Financial:
Maintain a holistic perspective on product-related costs, spanning from planning and engineering to operations, personnel, and risk management.
Analyze competitor offerings, identifying opportunities to distinguish our products by optimizing the price point to align precisely with specific business requirements.
Exhibit proven experience in overseeing multi-million-dollar network projects, ensuring effective product deployment within the organization.
Predict and plan for financial, material, and human resources, aligning them with set objectives.
Advocate for resource optimization, removing redundancies, and meticulously analyzing to cut unnecessary buffer periods, all in a bid to trim implementation costs. Prioritize organizational cost savings at every step.
Commit to delivering projects at, or under, the allocated budget, always emphasizing cost savings for the organization.
Customer:
Regularly engage with clients, establishing product cabinets for feedback collection and updating them on recent advancements.
Partner with various departments to discern IT hardware and network requirements, ensuring solutions are well-managed and implemented.
Foster strong relationships with IT vendors, guaranteeing quality service delivery to the organization.
Proactively anticipate customer requirements, solicit feedback, and provide well-reasoned advice based on comprehensive solutions or strategic roadmaps.
People:
Maintain open lines of communication with users and IT staff, ensuring a holistic, 360-degree view of operations and issues.
Cultivate and sustain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee products, projects, and operational teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Lead the team's transition to an Agile way of working, promoting agility and responsiveness.
Design SMART KPIs for team members, articulating the vision, roadmap, and purpose behind each objective. Regularly track and evaluate KPIs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Support individual performance by setting clear objectives. Encourage continuous learning, facilitating growth opportunities, and coaching junior management.
Provide support, coaching, and guidance on complex technical matters, ensuring teams are familiar with MUFG's internal processes, including ITSM and project management.
Foster the growth of subject matter experts (SMEs), develop succession plans, and nurture the next generation of leaders within the organization.
Others/Control:
Maintain a comprehensive overview of risks and controls for the network and security stack of products. Proactively address open issues, identify Self-Identified Issues (SII), and create effective remediation plans.
Ensure departmental projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.
Assess branch requests for infrastructure assistance and allocate appropriate resources for support.
Support the creation and updating of policies, ensuring alignment with all pertinent regulations.
Assist in managing the department's risk profile, ensuring all aspects are monitored and addressed.
Maintain an updated understanding of industry trends, products, relevant laws, and regulations.
Engage in relevant branch and regional committees, contributing expertise and insights.
Ensure project and BAU activities are maintained within agreed service levels, optimizing team resources to maintain desired support levels. Able to influence processes and systems based on expertise.
Offer insights on system development and integration, ensuring the correct application of technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
Requirements:
Minimum 20 years of experience in overseeing and managing network infrastructure, including network platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, and F5, as well as WAN, LAN, and wireless technologies.
Experience in managing the end-to-end product management process with experience in security practices and products within the networking product area.
Experience in voice related specialties including CUCM, Unigy, and SBC technologies.
Strong experience in a dynamic Network product management role. Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product and project development lifecycle
Experience in a Financial Services or large complex and/or global environment preferred.
Infrastructures troubleshooting build and deliver experience a must.
Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Cloud (AWS/other), CCIE, RHEL, and other technical certifications are an added advantage.
High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
Understand Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles at a high level.
Excellent leadership skills, good analytical skills, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of the ITSM processes and use of Service Now
