Database Developer - Financial Data Platform
Location: Hybrid / Philadelphia (local candidates only)
Full-time / Regular / Direct employment (with client)
US Citizen/Greed Card Holders only (No C2C / Visa)
An established financial services firm is seeking a Database Developer with strong SQL Server, Snowflake, and Python expertise to help evolve its cloud-based data architecture. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2 days per week in-office near Philadelphia, with flexibility based on onboarding, performance, and manager discretion.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in building scalable, high-performing database systems, experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, and a passion for data-driven problem solving in fast-paced environments.Key Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server development (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers)
Strong background with SSIS, SSRS, and Visual Studio database projects
Experience developing solutions in Snowflake (SnowSQL, Streams, Tasks, stored procedures)
Scripting skills in Python for automation, transformation, or orchestration
Familiarity with AWS, particularly in hybrid/on-prem data environments
Experience with PostgreSQL is a strong plus
Understanding of data governance, data security, and enterprise data management standards
Clear technical documentation and cross-team collaboration skills
Previous exposure to the financial or wealth management sector is a bonusResponsibilities
Develop and support high-volume, high-performance database systems using SQL Server tools
Design and optimize stored procedures, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions
Support Snowflake development, including automation and near real-time data workflows
Collaborate across departments to define data solutions aligned with business needs
Monitor and improve performance of database environments and SQL workloads
Document data systems, architecture, and flows clearly and consistently
Participate in on-call or off-hours support rotation as neededEducation & Background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
