REPORTS TO: Programming Manager
LOCATION: Corporate Office*
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $78,000-85,000 annually. The actual hourly wage will be determined based on experience and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5pm, on call rotation Saturday/Sunday
*Must reside in New York and be able to work onsite at our Corporate Office as needed.
Position Overview
The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the Credit Union’s core operating systems and designated third party processing systems. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, assigned projects tasks, core maintenance, quality controls, technology/job script evaluations, implementation of hardware/software, report creation, troubleshooting (all levels), and afterhours on call responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Programming, Support, and Administration
Ensure successful completion of end of day, month, quarter and year end processing.
Troubleshoot core/third party system related problems occurring during processing, or issues reported by end users.
Analyze, document, and recommend solutions as corrective actions are initiated.
Develop, implement and maintain Symitar PowerOn programs.
Responsible for following change management and quality control procedures.
Assist in projects for all mergers, product enhancements, new product/services creation, and third part integrations.
Responsible for supporting software releases, system upgrades, file expansions and interfaces.
Coordinate installation, adds, moves, and changes of Instant Issue, Check 21, ATM, Cash Management/Cash Recyclers, and other hardware/software products.
Respond to end users requests for reports and data exports.
Maintain security of Credit Union systems at all times.
Responsible for assisting in disaster recovery preparation and planning.
Support maintenance surrounding server(s) that house the core operating system in collaboration with Information System/Security department.
Prepare commands using AIX and Linux.
Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports for management
Support programming efforts surrounding the development, implementation, and maintenance for assigned Sub -Core/Third Party systems such as, but not limited to, Loan Origination System, Mortgage Origination System, Credit/Debit Card Processing Platform, Online/Mobile Banking Systems, and Payment Processing Systems.
Utilize internal ticketing system to respond to incoming requests, track issues, and document resolutions.
Maintain general understanding of end user operations surrounding supported core and third part systems.
Adhere to credit union policies, procedures, best practices, and core values.
Other
Participate in rotating On Call schedule will be required to be available to troubleshoot technology issues before/after normal business hours via a VPN from home or remote location. (On call if 5pm-8am M-F & 24/7 weekend support, rotating.)
Participate in special assignments and projects as requested by management.
Assist in all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience: Applicants must possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience:
Education: 4 year degree in a technical or related area
Experience: 5 years of experience programming preferred
Desired experience: Programming Symitar Episys
Technical & Systems/Equipment Proficiencies:
Microsoft Office Suite, particularly: Outlook, Word, and Excel
Office equipment, such as computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines, as well as multi-line phone systems
Programming languages: PowerOn, SQL, Javascript, XML, Python
Cash Machine technologies/Teller and Banking Software
Abilities
Physical:
