Job Title: EHS Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

The EHS Engineer’s purpose is to manage and lead the EHS functions for Jinko Solar U.S. Industries. The EHS Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of EHS compliance programs designed to ensure that compliance related responsibilities are met on a timely basis.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and continuously improve all methods, processes, training, and all specific Programs and Procedures associated with EH&S compliance.

Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations for all federal and local regulations, including but not limited to EPA, NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

Develop, measure, identify, track, analyze, and report EH&S statistics and trends.

Implement corrective actions, working with personnel to address any identified concerns.

Ensure that effective EH&S programs are implemented to address compliance as well as methods for improvement. Assign EH&S personnel to project teams.

Direct responsibility for the Waste Management Program includes obtaining required permits, preparing reports, maintaining records, and preparing budgets.

Ensures procedures are in place for sampling, waste characterization, labeling, preparation of hazardous waste for shipment, signing of hazardous waste manifests.

Ensures compliance with all local and federal rules and regulations, documents inspections, and improvement methods are in place.

Prepare, facilitate, and arrange appropriate resources to ensure that all EH&S training needs are addressed and that training requirements are fulfilled and documented.

Direct responsibility of the on-site security staff handled by third-party contractors.

Coordinate with plan security guards, visitors related to EH&S programs.

Be an effective communicator with all Jinko Solar, USA team members.

Implements the goals and performance objectives set by the Manager for the Environmental, Safety, and Health department; and ensures quality control measures are integrated into all aspects of the manufacturing process.

Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure proper Safety training is documented and made a part of the employee’s file.

Compliance – Develop and continuously improve all methods, processes, training, and all specific Programs and Procedures associated with EH&S compliance. In addition, ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations for all federal and local regulations, including but not limited to EPA, NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.

Training – Manages health and safety training delivery across Jinko Solar, USA production facility. Tracks changes in legislation and develops training programs under the new legislation. Maintains effective communications with colleagues both in/outside the department.

Managing Staff – Sets Safety performance goals with staff members and ensures that goals are directly linked to Safety Department goals for the year. Provides feedback to staff throughout the year promptly. Addresses performance issues within the team and creates a climate of recognition and appreciation for work performed well.

Planning, Budgeting, and Work Improvements – Develops budget forecasts and plans for the upcoming year with the operations manager. Anticipates future costs and expenditures for work-unit. Manages and stays within current budget levels. Communicates staffing level needs to Director.

Communications – Engages staff within the team to find ways to find work improvements and reduce costs. Establishes a Safety Committee of representatives from all levels of the organization to monitor, set policy, and ensure a Safe and Healthy work environment is maintained for the Jinko Solar worksite.

All other duties assigned by the Operations Manager and Jinko Solar Corporate, Ltd. Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Certification in Safety, O.S.H.A. compliance – A.S.P., C.S.P., C.S.H.O. certifications preferred

At least five years of experience in manufacturing operations, with manufacturing, in a "clean" environment preferred.

Familiar with all machinery utilized in the manufacturing process and physical safeguards used in their function.

Two years of supervisory experience.

Demonstrated excellent people skills.

Excellent organizational skills

The ability to work with a diverse team without playing favorites or politics.

Excellent Communicator.
