We provide a full continuum of care, including outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and partial hospitalization (PHP). We’re hiring a Billing & Coding Specialist with hands-on experience in behavioral health billing and revenue cycle management.
Job Summary:
The Billing & Coding Specialist is responsible for overseeing the full claim lifecycle—from coding and submission to payment posting and denial resolution. This role supports both professional and institutional billing and requires a strong understanding of behavioral health codes (e.g., H0015, H0035, H0038) and proper use of revenue codes on UB-04 forms.
Experience with rev codes such as 0126, 1002, 0912, 0913, and 0906 is preferred. You’ll also collaborate with our providers and admin staff to ensure all claims are accurate, timely, and fully supported by documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for behavioral health services
Submit claims through Office Ally or designated clearinghouses, with attention to claim type (professional vs. institutional)
Review denials and resubmit corrected claims promptly
Verify Medicaid and commercial plan eligibility and authorization requirements
Apply correct codes (e.g., H0015 for IOP, H0035 for PHP) and match to proper rev codes (0126, 1002, 0912, 0913, 0906) when billing on UB-04 forms
Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure services align with authorizations and treatment documentation
Track claim status and maintain clear documentation in billing systems
Stay current on payer updates, state billing rules, and CMS guidance
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in behavioral health billing and coding
Knowledge of Medicaid (OHP) and commercial payer rules
Familiar with EHR/EMR platforms
Strong understanding of billing codes including H0015, H0035, H0038, H2014, and 90837
Familiarity with UB-04 billing and revenue code usage (including 0126, 1002, 0912, 0913, and 0906)
Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in resolving billing issues
Billing/coding certification preferred, but not required
Schedule & Pay:
Full-time, Monday through Friday
