Job Description

Job Title: Scale Operator/Admin:

Hamtramck Recycling is currently looking for a friendly, motivated individual to assume the position of Scale Operator/Administrative Assistant for our facility.

Responsibilities:

Ensure all trucks are properly and accurately weighed when entering and leaving the site

Complete shipping, receiving and contract documents

Greet, direct and assist customers through the facility

Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner

Maintain scale related logs, as well as reports and paperwork for data entry

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and phone calls.

Maintaining and updating electronic and hard copy filing systems.

Maintaining and organizing office equipment and facilities.

Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

Providing general administrative support to other departments as needed.

Requirements:

Scale Operator Experience a Plus ( but not required - will train )

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Google Sheets

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers with other duties as required

· Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to do basic math

Adherence to safety rules and procedures

To apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required

1 year of scale operations or customer service experience preferred.

Position Type:

Full-Time/Regular

Hours: Monday through Friday

1st Shift - 5:00am - 2:00pm

Alternating Saturdays from 7:00 AM – 1:00 PMCompany Description

Our facility sorts and recycles material from the industrial and commercial waste stream that would otherwise find its home in one of the states many landfills. Our company is making an impact not only in our local community but in the entire metro Detroit area.
