Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Processor I to support our client’s medical facility based in Dublin OH 43016

Schedule: 3rd Shift
Pay Rate: $18 to $19/hr
Shift: Tuesday-Saturday 4 am- 12:30 pm
Contract: 3+ Months Contract to Possible
Job Description:
The main function of a Specimen Processor is to perform specimen sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Introduce and prepare biological specimens for laboratory processing.
Open specimens and transfer to secondary containers for analysis and testing.
Verify that patient demographic information matches the submitted test requisition form.
Enter patient information into the computer system for tracking.
Meet key production metrics and quality standards to ensure timely and accurate results.
Unpack and route specimens to appropriate staging areas.
Pack and ship specimens to designated testing facilities as needed.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Resolve and document any issues with problem specimens.
Handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste safely.
Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
Operate automated laboratory instruments under supervision if necessary.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous medical or production experience preferred.
Proficient computer and typing skills.
Must pass a standardized color vision test (accommodations considered if needed).
Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, work in protective equipment, and sit/stand for extended periods.
Strong hand-eye coordination to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
0–2 years of relevant work experience.
