About the role
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has aspirations to Delivery Management, to gain real experience and challenge themselves to step up and grow.
This is a key position within the IT Digital Core team, with a focus on achieving successful delivery of projects. The role of Delivery Manager is involved in ensuring the projects are in their control, and the control of Project Managers working with them, are well run and apply governance appropriately.
You will report to a Senior Delivery Manager, and will be expected to manage Project Manager(s) and / or Project Coordinator(s) (who could be from Boots or at times partners) at a task level; with potential line management. You will lead a multi-discipline delivery team and work largely on your own initiative within the framework agreed with the Senior Manager. You will also be a contact for Project Managers when issues arise with the delivery of projects and take accountability for resolving these, involving architects, third parties and technical SME's.
What you'll need to have
Experience in managing the successful end-to-end delivery of multiple IT projects
Expertise in multiple IT project delivery methodologies, frameworks and processes (incl. Agile)
Experience of leading technical delivery teams
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience in supplier management and engagement as well as commercial awareness
Project management qualification, e.g. APM/PMP (Association for Project Managers, Project Management Professionals), Prince2, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), Agile PM, SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework)

Understanding of retail environments, including retail process
Experience of managing projects in out-sourced environments
In-depth knowledge of specific IT retail environments
Experience in one or more of the following areas: SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle), IT infrastructure and networking, IT service and support, Digital and Mobile technologies
Experience of managing projects with a team comprised of onshore and offshore resources
Expert knowledge of processes in relevant business areas (e.g. Finance, Supply Chain)
Experience in line management / people management
Experience of Programme Management / Portfolio Management
