Project Manager – SAP S/4HANA

About the job
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end upgrade of a client’s SAP system to SAP S/4HANA. The S4 Local Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for North America, acting as the key liaison between six North American locations and the client's global project management team. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the upgrade project on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in project management, excellent stakeholder management skills, and working knowledge of transformation best practices.
This SAP S/4HANA upgrade will coincide with an organizational restructuring, and the Project Manager will be expected to coordinate closely with the team managing that initiative to ensure alignment.
Roles and responsibilities
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to align with the global project schedule.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including but not limited to manufacturing plants, business units, global project team, and key users.
Relay project information, updates, and requirements from the global team to local stakeholders.
Ensure the availability and allocation of local resources needed for the project.
Promote and support change management efforts both locally and globally.
Identify project roadblocks and risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure alignment with business goals and compliance with internal governance and change management processes.
Facilitate status meetings and executive updates.
Oversee data migration, testing, and training activities in line with the global schedule.
Communicate and/or resolve any issues that arise during local testing; escalate to the global team as defined for additional support.
Ensure smooth execution of cutover activities while minimizing disruption to local operations.
Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
Support a successful transition to ongoing support teams post-implementation.
Other related duties as needed.
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, IT, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
PMP or equivalent certification.
7 years of experience in project management, including at least 3 years managing ERP implementation or upgrade projects.
Some working knowledge/experience with SAP; S/4HANA experience is a plus.

Knowledge of data migration tools and best practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
