The Rockhampton facility operates as a fully equipped Daimler Trucks service centre, specialising in the diagnostics, servicing, and repair of Mercedes-Benz, Fuso, and Freightliner trucks. RGM supports a wide range of clients in the transport, mining, and commercial sectors and is widely recognised for its technical expertise, modern infrastructure, and commitment to service excellence.

About the Role

Yakr Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Technician on behalf of RGM Maintenance for their Rockhampton workshop. This is a full-time opportunity classified under ANZSCO 321212 – Diesel Motor Mechanic, suitable for experienced diesel professionals with strong diagnostic skills and hands-on experience with Daimler vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

In alignment with the ANZSCO 321212 classification, key duties include:

Diagnosing mechanical and electronic faults in diesel engines, transmissions, braking, steering, and suspension systems

Dismantling, inspecting, and reassembling heavy vehicle mechanical components

Replacing worn or faulty parts and testing systems to manufacturer specifications

Conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance

Using computerised diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults

Interpreting technical manuals, fault codes, and service bulletins

Completing job cards and service reports accurately

Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and roadworthiness standards

Attending to field service and breakdown repairs as required

Candidate Requirements

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent qualification)

Minimum 3 years' practical experience in diesel diagnostics and repairs

Demonstrated experience working on Mercedes-Benz, Fuso, or Freightliner trucks

Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools and vehicle electronics

HR or MR driver’s licence (preferred)

Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and industry standards

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-paced workshop

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
