Nanny/Family Assistant - Montecito, CA

A lovely family in Montecito seeks an exceptional nanny/family assistant to join their household. This role will primarily focus on caring for a 2-year-old and 3-year-old, while also providing family assistance support. The position can begin during the summer or at the beginning of September. The schedule will be 12-5pm or so, with the possibility of more hours if preferred. Flexibility for date nights and overnights would be appreciated as the family travels to a second home in Northern California one weekend every 6-8 weeks. Both children will be in school 9am-12:30pm on weekdays. The parents hope to find a long-term fit after their nanny of the last two years leaves to start her own family.

Responsibilities

Childcare Responsibilities:

Create a warm, nurturing environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries

Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities and educational experiences

Research and coordinate local adventures and outings for enrichment

Provide transportation to activities (excellent driving skills required though many activities, including their school, are walking distance)

Coordinate schedules, manage appointments

Assist with meal preparation for children. The family values a healthy, organic diet

There is an older child in the home that needs minimal care but will be included in meals

Family Assistant Responsibilities:

Children's laundry and general tidying up of playroom, children's bedrooms, etc.

Children's dishes

Running errands if candidate drives (dry cleaning, shopping, etc.)

General family support tasks as needed

Qualifications

Loving, warm, and nurturing personality. They are looking for someone who understands how important these years are in their children's lives- someone who will help build the the programming for the girls brains and future development. The number one priority is making sure the children feel loved and safe!

Career professional nanny with family assistant experience would be ideal

Excellent understanding of child development milestones and age-appropriate activities.

Organized and enjoys keeping a tidy home. The parents appreciate a nanny setting up systems and maintaining those that are in place

Ability to flexibly pivot between childcare and assistant tasks based on family needs as the children grow. The family is hoping to have this nanny for years to come if it is a good fit!

Requirements

Must already be in California. There is a landing pad that can be used at the beginning of position, however, the position will be live-out

Driver's license and clean driving record. Much is within walking distance but in case of an emergency, need to be able to drive. Nanny car can be provided for on the job driving

Willing to do domestic travel which will include one weekend in Northern California every 6-8 weeks and some East Coast trips with notice.

Professional who knows how to maintain boundaries and able to navigate a fully-staffed house

Easy going personality, able to roll with changes, and adapt quickly to different environments

Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certifications (or be willing to update them ASAP)

Trustline certified, or willing to certify

Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

$35+ per hour plus applicable overtime
