Position Summary: Were looking for a client-focused, experienced HR Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, youll serve as the trusted HR partner to multiple small to mid-sized business clients, providing strategic guidance and hands-on support across all areas of human resources. Youll juggle a variety of industries, people, and projectsno two days are the same.

Education and Experience:
5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a generalist or consulting role.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate HR language into business impact.
Strong time and energy management skillsyou know how to prioritize and adapt quickly.
Demonstrated ability to build credibility and maintain confidentiality with clients.
SPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
OSHA 10, OSHA 30 or other safety certification preferred.
Experience in multiple industries is highly valued (i.e. construction, skilled trades, healthcare, manufacturing).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and manage strong, trusted relationships with MBR clients, acting as their dedicated HR partner
Collaborate with internal colleagues and other assigned consultants to identify client issues and develop strategic HR solutions
Conduct HR assessments and implement tailored recommendations that align with client goals
Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state employment law, providing timely and accurate compliance guidance (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
Provide support for employee relations, including investigations, conflict resolution, harassment allegations, and disciplinary actions
Prepare and maintain accurate HR records related to hiring, terminations, transfers, leaves, and promotions using HRIS software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, BerniePortal)
Administer and manage HRIS systems and recommend process improvements for greater efficiency
Oversee OSHA recordkeeping and manage workers compensation claims in accordance with regulatory requirements
Manage benefit programs, including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, terminations, COBRA processing, and vendor communication
Coordinate with insurance brokers to identify, evaluate, and implement benefits that meet client and employee needs
Fulfill all reporting requirements for relevant federal and state government agencies (EEO, ACA, OSHA, etc.)
Administer 401(k) plans, including enrollments, required notices, coordination with advisors, distributions, and compliance filings
Manage unemployment, disability, and life insurance claims with appropriate documentation and follow-up
Design and deliver employee onboarding, performance management, and leadership development programs
Partner with clients during major organizational changes such as restructuring, culture shifts, or leadership transitions
Support and lead special projects as assigned, with a strategic, proactive mindset
Organize and maintain both electronic and physical HR files in accordance with best practices and compliance standards
Actively participate in the HR and business community through networking, job fairs, and professional events
Travel daily to client locations within the Greater Columbus area to provide on-site support as needed
Operate effectively in a billable hours environment, managing time and client workload efficiently
Full-time
