Salary: $77,000 – 85,000 + super of 11.5%
Location: 4 Burtonia Way, Forrestfield, WA 6058
Reporting to: This role reports directly to the Director/Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Studying and assessing plans and assisting in setting out and making slabs.
• Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks and related structures
• Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine bricklaying requirements and dimensions accurately.
• Carry out working independently without supervision.
• Laying face bricks and rough bricks to the specifications neatly and cleanly.
• Installing window and door frames into walls and installing lintels.
• Carrying out measurements correctly.
• Checking vertical and horizontal alignment using spirit levels, plumb bobs, and laser levels to ensure precision.
• Cutting, and shaping bricks using machines and hand tools.
• Laying different kinds of bricks and blocks i.e. Florentine, Standard and Concrete blocks.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to WHS (Work Health and Safety) regulations and guidelines
• Using chisels, hammers, and power tools to shape and fit bricks or masonry as required.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Certificate III in Bricklaying & Block laying or an equivalent qualification.
• A Construction White Card (General Construction Induction Card) is mandatory for working on construction sites.
Experience Requirement:
• More than 1.5 years of experience in a highly relevant role is required.
Essential Skills:
• Able to work in a team.
• Good communication skills
• Maintain good health and hygiene
• Strong knowledge of masonry materials, tools, and techniques.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and laying bricks, blocks, and masonry materials.
• Great time management and organisation skills
• Knowledge of different types of bricks, blocks, mortar mixes, and construction techniques.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and laying bricks, blocks, and masonry materials.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
• Awareness of construction site hazards and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
