Transportation Technician 1, Office of Material Management, PN 20050511

Note: This position requires 100% travel.

What You Will Do:

Travel throughout Ohio and surrounding states performing quality assurance evaluations of steel bridge members and other structural products.

Evaluate new and existing Fabricators to determine whether they meet ODOT’s program requirements.

Review quality control plans, shop drawings and represent ODOT or local agencies in prefabrication meetings.

Review welding procedures and other documents pertaining to steel bridge fabrication.

Willingness to travel up to 5 days a week

5 yrs. engineering related technical experience in simple construction/ rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.

-Or completion of associate degree program in engineering technology; 3 yrs. engineering related technical experience in simple construction/ rehabilitation/maintenance projects or planning & design of simple civil engineering projects or materials testing, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Technical Specialist, 85871, with experience to be commensurate with position to be filled.

-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
