Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is sought for the 2025-2026 school year to provide one-on-one support within a K-12 educational setting. This in-person position, located in Grove City, OH, offers a valuable opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating effective communication and access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct, one-on-one sign language interpretation services to a student in a classroom environment

Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers to support academic participation

Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion

Follow student-centered strategies and maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Participate in meetings and training as needed to enhance interpretation skills and educational knowledge

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills

Experience working in educational settings, preferably K-12

Knowledge of deaf culture and communication strategies

Ability to work full time, on-site during regular school hours

Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment

Commitment to supporting student success and inclusive education
