We are currently seeking a full-time Web Application Developer with a demonstrated history of success in building and supporting Section 508-compliant solutions, as well as providing necessary on-site support in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of advancing accessibility guidelines and standards.

The right candidate will perform U.S Access Board (USAB) web application development and Section 508 compliance support. This will include maintaining the website, its associated sub-sites, and ensuring compliance with security requirements such as Authority to Use and Authorization to Operate (ATO/ATU), as well as maintaining 24/7 website availability. The developer will provide all development environment and infrastructure devices for the USAB website, configured in a secure manner that complies with FISMA, NIST, and other mandated controls, and shall serve as expert and support personnel for Section 508 compliance and its associated requirements.

Perform administration, including account maintenance, software configuration, and updates of the USAB website.

Serve as the Section 508 compliance expert and ensure that the information and the artifacts on the USAB website are in compliance with the Section 508 standards.

Serve as the Section 508 compliance expert for documentation and other applications created in support of the work of the USAB staff.

Monitor development and other production-related environments for software patches and upgrade releases, assessing the impacts of implementation, and, where appropriate, apply these releases according to the defined Change Management (CM) process.

Manage all software that supports the USAB website, following configuration and security standards.

Ensure appropriate virus detection and response mechanisms are employed and maintained on all servers.

Generate reports from the monitoring system to review the overall traffic to the main USAB website.

Create and maintain a support website to assist with the complaint tracking system, a vital component of the USAB website.

Create and maintain websites, reports, and dashboards to support USAB operations.

Ensure that proper application development methodologies are utilized in the gathering of requirements, design, development, unit testing, quality assurance testing, and implementation of the aforementioned websites and applications.Requirements:

Minimum 5+ years of experience at a mid to senior level application developer.

Must have an understanding of the requirements of Section 508 compliance in association with web application development, documentation, and ensuring the production of compliant artifacts associated with the applications above.

Demonstrating experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant programming languages is crucial.

Minimum 5 years' experience developing E-commerce applications, coordinating projects, experience with tools like GitHub, SQL/MySQL, and experience with UX principles about the design of the application.

Experience with design, development, unit testing, and code implementation into higher-level environments is required.

Understand and follow the requirements associated with configuration management and proper code management techniques.
