Job Description
Salary:
We are seeking a PHLEBOTOMISTto become a part of our team! You will retrieve and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Phlebotomist will include, but is not limited to the following:
Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger-sticks.
Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
Verify patient and their personal information to ensure accurate processing of specimens
Label samples correctly and send or deliver them for testing
Keep accurate records on specimens and tests
Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available
Qualifications
Phlebotomy Certification
Phlebotomy experience - 2 years minimum of proven work history
Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
Detailed oriented and organized
Great interpersonal skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Medical Assistant experience, preferred
Working Conditions
The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
