Substance Abuse Counselor - Outpatient

Job Description

Salary: $36-38 per hour

The Ridge Ohio is currently looking for a full-time substance abuse counselor for our outpatient program who is passionate about helping people maintain Recovery for Life.

Required Licensure:

Master's degree required, needs LICDC or LPC/LICDC or LPCC/LICDC or LPPC-S or LICDC-CS or LPCC-S//LICDC-CS. Or LISW/LICDC combos.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Interviews clients, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate

condition of client

Formulates program for treatment and rehabilitation of client

Counsels clients

individually and in group sessions to assist clients in overcoming

alcohol and drug dependency

Counsels family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for

client

Refers client to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation and

treatment, social services, and employment services

Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy and adapts treatment as

needed

Prepares and maintains reports and case histories

while managing outpatient census in

electronic

medical record

Formulates and conducts programs to promote prevention of alcohol and drug

dependency using established curriculum

Completes

appropriate documentation in a timely manner using current methods whether

manual or electronic
