Salary: $110,000 to $140,000 based on experience and qualifications
Do you enjoy developing communications, managing public engagement, and leading digital media strategies?
This role will be primarily responsible for serving as a subject matter expert for strategic communications for a federal government client.
The position offers hybrid work flexibility, working from a home location and client location with the expectation of attending meetingsat the client site in D.C.as required.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of strategic communications strategies including the implementation of social media, public engagement and media outreach
Provide oversight of communications strategies and strategic guidance
Serve as the communications subject matter expert
Provide guidance on messaging to ensure products are technically accurate and easily understood by target audiences
Oversee the development of stakeholder mapping and personas, presentations, talking points
Provide final quality assurance on all communications deliverables
Produce digital and print graphics and layouts at the direction of the Creative Director
Lead the planning and creation of social media content
Lead the development and distribution of email marketing
Assist with 508 compliance
Qualifications/Skills:
10+ years of experience of communications experience supporting a Federal Agency
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and multitask
Must be proficient with Adobe Creative graphic design and video applications (i.e., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Premiere Rush, Media Encoder).
Proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
Experience with WebEx, Zoom, and other virtual meeting platforms
Experience with web design and content management systems, such as Drupal, Wix, and WordPress
Familiarity with accessible design including WCAG standards desired
Ability to obtain public trust security clearance

Education:
Bachelors degree, preferably in communications, public policy or similar field. Masters Degree preferred.

Location:
This is a hybrid position. The candidate must be able to commute to the client location in Washington, DC on a routine basis and be available for ad-hoc meetings.
Candidates will be provided a computer, however must have steady internet connection and a phone.
