Technical Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support sourcing of components and materials.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to identify procurement needs and develop sourcing strategies.

Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of meeting performance, cost, and quality standards.

Create and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring budgets and resources are optimized.

Support prototype builds and pre-production procurement for new product development.

Monitor supplier performance and work with vendors to resolve issues and improve lead times and quality.

Develop and manage RFQs, cost analysis, and purchase order documentation.

Help build and optimize systems for inventory control, demand planning, and materials flow.

Act as the technical point of contact for supplier communications and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a technical discipline

Minimum of 5 years of experience with two in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and materials.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Experience with ERP systems and purchasing workflows

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Background or interest in the firearms industry is a plus, but not required.
