Senior Estimator – Commercial Construction – Columbus, OH - up to $120K + benefits

An established general contractor based in Columbus is actively seeking a Senior Estimator with extensive experience in commercial construction. This is a pivotal role within a growing team, ideal for a skilled estimator looking to lead preconstruction efforts on high-profile projects across the region.

Role Overview:

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects. This includes analyzing plans and specifications, developing detailed quantity take-offs, pricing labor and materials, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation and submission of estimates and proposals for commercial projects.

Evaluate drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive bid packages.

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams during preconstruction.

Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Track historical cost data and stay updated on market conditions, material prices, and construction methods.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in estimating within the general contracting sector.

Proven track record in commercial construction including office buildings, retail, education, or healthcare projects.

Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, ProEst, or equivalent).

Strong analytical and organizational skills with acute attention to detail.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
