Minimum requirements for the role:
Must have a National Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Agriculture, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
Minimum 5+ years experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in food and beverage processing, chemicals, or biologicals and agricultural industries
At least 2 years experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Experience working with batch production systems and quality management processes is essential
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Experience in biological/agricultural/life sciences inputs or similar technical products is advantageous
Must have familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Good understanding of production planning, safety standards, and quality systems
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Proficient in MS Office and manufacturing ERP systems
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to quality control and logistics.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety standards, and relevant industry regulations.
Driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
Managing production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
Collaborating with the R&D and technical teams to support new product integration and process optimization.
Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Leading and developing a team of supervisors, technicians, and operators; providing coaching and performance feedback.
Managing raw material inventory, production planning, and waste reduction initiatives.
Developing and managing departmental budgets and cost control strategies.
Ensuring equipment and infrastructure are maintained and serviced to avoid downtime.
