Description:

Title: Azure Applications & EMR Project Lead

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid/Remote)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Industry: Healthcare IT / Behavioral Health

Overview:

Our healthcare client is seeking an Azure-savvy technical project leader to support a full-scale EMR migration and the modernization of internal enterprise applications. This is a strategic, hands-on role at the intersection of project delivery, system architecture, and stakeholder collaboration—ideal for someone who thrives in Microsoft Azure environments, understands healthcare workflows, and can bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution. Phoenix Staff is partnering with the client to identify a candidate who can step in with confidence, navigate a highly regulated environment, and deliver real impact from Day One.

What This Role Will Do:

Lead execution of a new EMR system implementation, including coordination with third-party vendors, internal stakeholders, and clinical users.

Own the technical delivery of data warehouse migrations, integrations, APIs, and reporting infrastructure—with a focus on Microsoft Azure tools and services.

Serve as a liaison between business units and IT, translating requirements into actionable technical plans and ensuring alignment with compliance and operational goals.

Support and extend the organization’s Power Platform ecosystem (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and Microsoft 365-based tools.

Manage project timelines, resource planning, and Agile/hybrid workflows in collaboration with the internal technical PM team.

Provide hands-on guidance during system migrations, while also mentoring junior technical staff as needed.

Help drive the organization’s roadmap toward enhanced digital capabilities, including data accessibility, automation, and future AI/ML initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of experience leading technical projects involving Microsoft Azure, enterprise applications, and systems integration.

Prior experience in healthcare IT is required; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is essential. Behavioral health system experience is a plus.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills—especially in environments that require cross-functional collaboration between IT, clinical staff, and business users.

Proficiency across the Azure ecosystem: Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Logic Apps, Power Platform, Azure DevOps.

Experience supporting data warehouse transitions, reporting modernization, and API development in regulated environments.

Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, data privacy, and security best practices.

Preferred: Experience with Sunwave, Methasoft, or other behavioral health EMRs; certifications in Azure or Power Platform; familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira.

Why This Role Matters:

This hire will play a key role in one of the organization’s most business-critical initiatives: transitioning core clinical systems, migrating vital data infrastructure, and enabling long-term scalability through thoughtful cloud architecture. They will not only support today’s roadmap, but also lay the foundation for future digital transformation.
