Requirements:
1. Command on the IT Infrastructure operating model and a very good understanding of the Application release management processes, application deployment processes.
2. Understanding of the dependencies of the Application deployment cycle – Know how of – maintenance Windows, Application hosting infra, GPOs, policies, Application/Server configuration settings, and system updates.
3. A business fluent German and English – the resource has to demonstrate the ability to handle phone calls and conversations in German and English as required in the context of daily tasks.
4. Basic know how of Citrix, VM operating model.
5. A strong intent to deep dive into the technicalities of the topic as required, getting a broader insight into how the employee's daily tasks fit into the Overall IT eco system of the department in order to ensure relevant stakeholders, dependencies are all addressed in the right manner.
Job Description:
1. This a hybrid role with a combination of tasks to be performed on premises as well as tasks that can be accomplished remotely. The exact duration of Office Vs Home Office hours will be inline with the guidelines of the company, however, can be mutually aligned with respective manager for any exceptions in the best interest of both parties. Ensuring working from Office based on the need of the day is highly important.
2. The resource is expected to support the end to end Application release management activities for the Engineering/CAD applications, employee's routine involves 70% of coordination activities with all relevant stakeholders (Application owners, Application packaging teams, Citrix support teams, Local IT coordinators, Vendor partners that create necessary GPOs) and 30% of hands on, creating a testing environment via Citrix and provisioning it to the stakeholders, configuring Virtual machines with approximate resources and settings, creating optimized cloned master images for consistent VM deployment.
3. Organizing VMs into catalogues and delivery groups, ensuring Secure user access.
4. Configuring Citrix remote PC access to integrate physical machines into the environment.
5. Monitoring resource pools, user permissions to ensure optimal utilization.
6. Regular monitoring and troubleshooting via Citrix detector and Studio for environment stability.
7. Source validation for provided source file from Application owners.
8. Application source creation and creation of installation instructions – securing approvals from Application owners.
9. Performing technical reviews for application readiness.
10. Creation of pre-packages for EDM applications using Install Shield packaging tool.
11. Delivering packaging instructions to Global packaging factory team for final production packaging.
12. UAT on final packages.
13. Smoke testing of packages on Global master images.
14. Addressing L2 and L3 level application issues via tickets based on defined KBs and coordination with application owners.
