Shift: 8am-5pm
Job Summary:
Under supervision, learns to perform inspections for compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations and standards to ensure environmental health, safety, and/or compliance.
Job Description:
Under supervision the person selected will:
Assists with reviews of licensing applications; performs safety surveys and inspections.
Gains knowledge of changes in state, OSHA, NFPA, and other safety codes and regulations as applicable.
Interpret and administer regulatory issues, technical issues, and analytical data to document compliance with environmental health and safety laws and regulations to ensure safety and well-being of employees.
Monitors and records functionality and location of emergency equipment and other related items.
Plan and coordinates inspections and audits of assigned facilities/sites for procedural compliance, or to maintain appropriate accreditation.
Provide guidance and consultation regarding hazardous materials, fire safety inspections, and other related activities.
Utilize a variety of monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to gather and enter data records.
May perform training, data management and related equipment maintenance
Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission requirements
Chair the Environment of Care committee
Responsible for the seven (7) annual plans required by EOC standards of TJC
Plan and organize disaster planning and drills
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or four year degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment; Health Care Management; Health Care Administration; Business Administration; Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management; or other related field.
Four or more years of related experience.
Experience in a Health Care environment a must
Experience with safety, hazardous materials and emergency planning.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite with an emphasis in Excel
