Job Title:

Senior Application Development Engineer – Industrial

Summary:Responsible for technical support, new application development, custom compound development, customer trouble shooting, lab assessment and technical data package preparation, directed at Industrial segment (Specialty Elastomer focus for LSR, HCE and Custom Compound) in Asia Pacific region, mainly focus on Great China and SEA.

Responsibilities Include:

Support to Marketing, Sales and fostering cross-regional collaboration within ADE team

Closely collaborate with commercial team to develop new customers, to support product qualification process and to close opportunities for incremental growth

Travel and visit customers regularly to search for any new project opportunities.

Support customers to investigate root causes of any fabricate processing issues or quality issues

Support regional marketing manager for customer seminars, events, EXPOs to promote MPM brand and product solutions

Frequent communication with ADEs in other regions and maintain a cross-pole network with other sites, as well as R&D team for silicone elastomer knowledge and troubleshooting skills

NPIs/NPCs work

Explore new application opportunities and its customers’ unmet needs and translate such new product development opportunities to trigger NPIC/NPI development

Work closely with R&D to support new product development through NPI process

Independently develop the custom compound product utilizing plant compounding platform

Laboratory work

Conduct all necessary laboratory work in a safe manner. Maintain and promote a safe work environment

Develop the application technical data package to support the NPI product market launch, delivering the required application data according to customer specifications

Customers/Distributors support

Provide silicone elastomer training to customers / distributors

Create promotional literature and other tools (flyers/new presentations/videos) to support regional distribution teams

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

· BS degree or above in chemical engineering, chemistry or related industry. Experience with polymer materials (plastics, rubber, adhesives, etc.) is preferred. Well understands Silicone Elastomer applications and relevant manufacturing.

· Min. 5 years’ experience in technical related functions such as technical selling or product development with customer interaction.

· Fluent in English communication (verbal, writing, reading, listening).

· No problem with frequent travelling (40%)

· Experience in serving automotive and consumer electronics industry is preferred.

· Strong initiation and self-motived, result oriented

Diligent, agile and about to quickly respond to the customer request.
