Our Real Estate client in Newport Beach is looking for an Accounting Manager due to internal promotion. This role will oversee two staff for commercial properties located in the US. They look for individuals who are "career" focused and coming out of public accounting or a commercial real; estate firm.
PROPERTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee month-end close procedures including bank reconciliations, monthly accruals, recurring and non-recurring journal entries
Responsible for entering job cost budgets into MRI, contract review/ approval, and review of submitted documentation for completeness
Prepare construction management fee calculations and maintain invoice support
Prepare/review monthly GAAP financial statements and support schedules
Prepare monthly Fair Value financial statements as applicable
Review of third party property management monthly reporting packages
Prepare/maintain monthly Preferred Return Calculation schedules
Provide support to the property management group on monthly variance explanations
Prepare monthly Cash Requirement Analysis for investors
Prepare monthly loan draw packages to lenders
Responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual lender reporting requirements
Responsible for cash management
Review of accounts payable for accuracy
Review new loan documents and prepare abstracts
Update investor/lender reporting matrix
Initiate outgoing wires for debt service and investor distributions
Update monthly Marketing Schedule
Update quarterly Lease Commission Schedule
Prepare quarterly/annual reporting packages for investors
Assist with annual financial statement audits and interact with auditors on questions and information requests
Other projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. / B.A. degree in Accounting/Finance
5-7 years post graduate experience in public accounting or property accounting (commercial or industrial)
2+ years management experience
Experience working with MRI (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, CM, and Job Cost Modules) a plus
Knowledge of joint venture accounting
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
Expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his/her work product
Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to meet tight deadlines
Excellent oral and written English skills
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook, along with a general aptitude for technology
Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where continuous improvement is expected
Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude; a team player
