The Contracts and Grants Analyst will be responsible for preparing and maintaining budgets, submitting vouchers, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and supporting audits. This role involves coordination with internal departments, including budgeting, accounting, and program teams, to ensure the effective and compliant management of contract and grant funding.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare budgets and amendments in accordance with government and private funding requirements.
Submit contract modifications, close-outs, and required documentation for city, state, and federal contracts and private grants.
Process and submit monthly or quarterly vouchers for payment.
Prepare financial reports, including Consolidated Budget Reports (CBR) and Consolidated Financial Reports (CFR), using applicable state systems.
Collaborate with the budget team to track revenue and expenditures and analyze budget variances.
Provide guidance on cost allocation and expenditure coding to accounting staff.
Review funding agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Monitor general ledger activity related to contracts and grants; record necessary journal entries.
Reconcile voucher submissions with received payments.
Support budget setup and salary allocations in internal systems.
Assist with government and compliance audits.
Communicate with program and building managers regarding contract and grant-related issues.
Support year-end audit preparation and participate in other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelorâ s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of accounting-related experience.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with Sage MIP Fund Accounting and CFR systems is a plus.
