The Job/What You'll Do
We are seeking a Senior Director, Channel Marketing to lead the strategy, development, and execution of marketing initiatives across AssetMark’s financial intermediary channels, with a focus on RIA (Registered Investment Advisors), bank/trust companies, and broker-dealer firms. This senior leader will be responsible for elevating AssetMark’s presence and influence in the market, accelerating advisor engagement, and driving measurable business growth.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Concord, CA or Charlotte, NC.
Reporting to the CMO, the Senior Director will serve as the primary marketing voice for these critical distribution channels, translating business objectives into actionable marketing strategies that drive impact and enhance our brand reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Channel Leadership
Develop and lead the channel marketing strategy for RIA, bank trust, and broker-dealer channels, aligning to overarching business growth targets and priorities.
Work closely with sales, product, and service, representing the advisor and channel’s voice in strategic discussions.
Identify new market opportunities and emerging trends to expand reach and deepen channel penetration.
Integrated Marketing & Campaign Development
Oversee the creation of differentiated channel-specific marketing plans, including campaigns, messaging, content, and event strategies.
Ensure a seamless client acquisition and engagement journey through personalized and targeted marketing.
Lead high-profile, go-to-market initiatives for new products, services, or partnerships within RIA, bank trust, and broker-dealer channels.
Advisor Engagement & Enablement
Champion advisor-centric marketing programs that foster engagement, loyalty, and business growth.
Lead the development of best-in-class advisor enablement materials and thought leadership content that reinforce AssetMark’s value proposition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence
Act as the primary liaison across key internal partners including product marketing, brand, advisor journey marketing and sales.
Collaborate with key external partners, industry platforms, and associations to extend reach and influence.
Identify areas where AssetMark should attend conferences, events and client forums to raise our visibility.
Measurement, Analytics & Optimization
Define KPIs and lead performance measurement, translating marketing impact into business outcomes.
Use data and insights to drive continuous improvement and campaign optimization
Required Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in channel marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within financial services.
Deep understanding of the RIA, bank/trust, and broker-dealer advisor landscape—both from a strategic and tactical marketing perspective.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing high-impact marketing strategies that drive business results.
Executive presence, with strong influencing skills and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
Proven ability to operate in a highly regulated environment and manage legal/compliance review processes.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in investment products, wealth management, or advisory services.
Strong digital marketing and data-driven decision-making skills.
Experience managing agency/vendor relationships and overseeing marketing budgets.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $160,000-$190,000 for candidates based in Concord, CA and the Base Salary range for this position is between $130,000-$155,000 for candidates based in Charlotte, NC.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
