Position Summary
Tacten is seeking Rope Access JP CWB Welders to join our team for our Fall Outage in the Fort McMurray area. As a JP Welder, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.
Position Information:
Fall Outage
Outage duration: September 4th, 2025 - October 19, 2025
6/1 rotation, 12 hour shifts
IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
Camp provided
Responsibilities
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements
Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques and materials
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as necessary
Perform welding operations using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or other welding processes
Monitor and adjust welding parameters to ensure weld quality and adherence to specifications
Inspect welded joints for defects and perform corrective actions as needed
Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures while performing welding tasks
Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store welding equipment and materials
Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and according to requirements
Requirements
Journeyman Welding Certification required
CWB Certification required
IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain.
Current safety tickets as per provincial standards
Safety Certifications
OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required
