This position is located in Paulding, OH.

The Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Assistant will work under the direction of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educator to provide support to a comprehensive agricultural and natural resources program as well as programming in the Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The Program Assistant will accomplish this through support and leadership. Duties for this position include: working with the Master Gardener Volunteer program, horticulture and natural resource education as well as the youth gardening programs; Research sampling and plot for the ANR program; Field scouting; Providing assistance to the 4-H Youth Development Educator/Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator/Family and Consumer Sciences Educator with the Paulding County Fair and all components of pre-fair activity such as: Acres of Fun. The Program Assistant will plan and conduct programmatic efforts for Agriculture and Natural Resources program in Paulding County in line with the goals set by the Agricultural and Natural Resources Educator. This position will plan, promote, and conduct programming for Master Gardener Volunteer programming in the community. The Program Assistant will work with the ANR Educator and other staff with Master Gardener Volunteer enrollment, volunteer recruitment, data entry and management, record keeping, and organization/maintenance of files. The Program Assistant will coordinate with office staff, key stakeholders, partners, and community members to plan and deliver programming of school and community-based educational programs and activities for county, based on the community needs and Extension model.

This position may also assist at times with the the 4-H Youth Development, Family Consumer Sciences Extension program areas in Paulding County and the Water Quality program in Paulding County.

The Program Assistant will work with the ANR Educator and Office Associate to develop printed and digital media/flyers including webpages, blog sites, social media, newsletters, and articles.

The Program Assistant will assist the ANR Educator with annual budgets, including keeping budget reports up to date.

The Program Assistant will participate as an Ohio State University Extension team member in Paulding County by participating in staff meetings, stewardship model, and engaging in professional development opportunities. This position will work collaboratively with Extension personnel to maintain a positive public image and demonstrate the mission of the land grant university.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.

The pay range for this job profile is $16.65 - $21.77 hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
