Job Title: Environmental Field Technician

Job Description

As an Environmental Field Technician, you will respond to environmental emergencies within a 24-hour period, performing both technical field and office work. You will operate mechanical equipment, such as Vac Trucks, Super Duster, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, trucks, and trailers. Your role includes conducting clean-up and decontamination procedures, maintaining inventory lists, and completing various reports. You will also need to understand the terminology and principles of spill responses and have basic knowledge of the proper storage, treatment, and disposal of hazardous materials collected during clean-up. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as you will interact with the public, clients, and other employees. Additionally, you will perform limited chemical tests, work around a variety of chemicals, and prepare equipment while keeping accurate field log books. Manual labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, pushing, and pulling are also part of the job.

Responsibilities

Respond to environmental emergencies within 24 hours

Operate mechanical equipment such as Vac Trucks, Super Duster, forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, trucks, and trailers

Conduct clean-up and decontamination procedures

Maintain inventory lists and complete reports

Understand spill response terminology and principles

Possess knowledge of hazardous material storage, treatment, and disposal

Perform limited chemical tests

Prepare equipment and maintain accurate field log books

Perform manual labor tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, pushing, and pulling

Communicate effectively with Field Supervisors and other team members

Perform drum procession, tank cleaning, spill crew tasks, general construction, equipment decontamination, and vehicle maintenance

Use all levels of PPE and adhere to safety proceduresEssential Skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
