Job Description
Salary: $115,000
Who We Are:
Double L Engineering is a commercial engineering contractor specializing in cutting-edge building and design solutions. DLE focuses on integrating innovative technology into commercial construction, including steel roll forming, BIM, BIM-driven robotic layout, prefabrication, kitting, and more.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a Structural Engineer with a PE license to play a key role in shaping the future of prefabricated framing and digital construction workflows. Culture fit is important to us, so while many may be able to do the job, we are looking for a person who we look forward to seeing on a Monday.
What We Offer:
When you interview for a job, it's a two-way street. While you're trying to put your best foot forward, we're doing the same. We are proud to offer health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off (including paid parental leave after 1 year of service!), bonuses, 401k with company contributions, weekly pay, company-paid life and disability insurance, optional employee-paid additional life insurance for employees, their spouses, and children, and Ramsey's SmartDollar financial wellness benefit... I could go on, but I'm getting a bit tired of typing...
We are a growing company that cares about our employees and their families. Our team doesn't miss out on dance recitals, first day of school pictures, trick or treat prep, or doctor's appointments. Family will always come first here.
If this appeals to you, please keep reading! If not, no hard feelings.
Onto the technical stuff...

Support automated layout using our layout robot (Dusty Robotics) to ensure accuracy and efficiency on-site.
Participate in the development and optimization of construction kits, streamlining delivery and assembly of prefabricated structural components.
Conduct structural analysis and support coordination for design adjustments based on field conditions or manufacturing limitations.
Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and engineering best practices (IBC, AISI, ASTM, etc.).
Engage in cross-functional collaboration with clients, fabrication, field, and project management teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (multi-state licensure a plus).
5+ years of structural design experience, preferably in cold-formed steel or prefabricated construction.
Proficiency in Revit and familiarity with BIM coordination workflows.
Working knowledge of structural design software (e.g., RISA, CFS, RAM, or similar).
Familiarity with roll forming processes and material behavior of light gauge steel preferred.
Experience with construction layout tools or layout robotics is a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter attitude, and a desire to work in a fast-growing startup environment.
