Financial & Business Intelligence Analyst

Valley Hope Association is seeking a skilled and experienced Financial & Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team. This position will be located on-site at our office in Overland Park, KS.

As a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality addiction treatment services, we are committed to leveraging data-driven insights to improve our operations and enhance patient care. The Business Intelligence Specialist will play a vital role in gathering, automating, analyzing, and visualizing data from multiple electronic health records and other data platforms to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

Seven (7) plus years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar role.

Seven (7) plus years of development experience using C#, ASP.NET MVC, or common Object-Oriented Design with a bias toward .Net languages.

Seven (7) plus years of experience with database and interface development. specifically relational database design, and user interface development.

Proven experience working with multiple electronic health records (EHR) systems and other data platforms commonly used in the healthcare industry.

Unrestricted Driver’s License

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Ten (10) plus years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar role.

Ten (10) plus years of development experience using C#, ASP.NET MVC, or common Object-Oriented Design with a bias toward .Net languages.

Ten (10) plus years of experience with database development, specifically relational database design, and user interface development.

JOB SUMMARY:

Collaborates on projects and initiatives as requested by management to streamline processes and work more effectively.

Stay up to date with existing and new industry trends, standards, and best practices in accounting, business intelligence, data analytics, and healthcare information systems.

Assists in preparation of monthly financial package for Board of Directors financial statements and other financial reports.

Participates in short-term planning sessions with venders and key stakeholders to implement process improvement within an identified area.

Analyzes existing information systems and applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements and may evaluate and provide recommendations for new application packages.

Supervises identified staff including hiring, training, and providing performance reviews. Provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development.

Works with the Business systems team to identify system requirements; develops application specifications; implements integration plans including interfacing with testing teams to incorporate plans into integration testing process; and provides ongoing maintenance of applications.

Design and develop reports & dashboards and assist Accounting and Finance team with developing them by educating them on the solution and BI platform capabilities.

Design and develop data transformation tool to communicate with vendor software.

Ensure Business Intelligence solution design is working to achieve optimum performance.

Generates and provides a variety of financial reports for CFO as required on a routine basis or as requested. Prepares ad hoc financial analysis and healthcare informatics reports as requested.

Collaborates with the Leadership with the following Business Intelligence tasks:

Synthesizes Business Intelligence/Healthcare Informatics Reports and Dashboards to support recommendations for action: GEO, Payer, Contract, Referral, Volume -ADC, Stepdown, ALOS, Press Ganey data and clinical data from HER systems.

Develop visualization to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable organizational scorecards.

Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.

Support contract negotiations by providing data analysis.

Collaborates with the Leadership with the following Financial tasks:

Data reconciliation of various reports/extracts, with the identification and amendment of discrepancies

Integrates operational, financial, and clinical data to assist leadership with business decisions.

Demonstrated ability to work with and maintain sensitive and confidential information.

Proficient with MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Proficiency in Windows, data manipulation, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

Experience in analyzing, designing, and implementing software solutions to improve quality, stability, and reusability of code.

Demonstrated experience in SQL Server database design and creation of simple SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers and performance optimization. An understanding of third normal form is essential.

Solid understanding of data management principles, data modeling, and data governance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office setting, traditional hours as delegated per Supervisor.

Ability to travel 10% of time if requested by Supervisor. Travel can increase for situational circumstances.
