Job Description
Capital University invites applications for the Student Accounts Specialist in Finance. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Accounts, this in-person position assists with special projects as needed. Responsibilities also include processing all special billings, including being one of the SCO for all VA students, assisting with in-house collections, and maintaining other student accounts processes as needed. This position also approves refund request forms and serves as back-up cashier when needed.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
Assists students/parents in person and on phone; communicates policies and procedures to students and staff.
Maintains university account records as directed (i.e. deposit forfeitures, miscellaneous field maintenance etc.).
Assists in monitoring accounts for those that have withdrawn or have an outstanding balance or have been placed in In-House Collections.
Assists in maintaining and billing collection accounts monthly, sends appropriate correspondence for non-payment; establishes payment arrangements with cooperative debtors.
Maintains account files/folders
Acts as one of the university SCO's for all VA students as well as understanding all governmental billing platforms (i.e. AI Portal, Tungsten of State OOD software).
Supervises student workers.
Qualifications:
High School education or equivalency.
One year of office experience or training primarily in data entry and information processing. Some college-level training and/or education is preferred.
Excellent facility in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
Organization, superior attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and strong ability to multi-task.
