Position Overview:Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently recruiting a Leadhand Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the team in Mildred Lake. Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the position of Leadhand Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for a variety of troubleshooting and repair duties within a service shop environment as well as providing leadership and instruction to others in their service and repair of a Caterpillar equipment.

Job Description:

Basic Functions:

Provide technical expertise on shop floor

Perform regular mechanical duties assigned by Supervisor

Maintain job status sheet and update the planner on job progress

Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed

Schedule and delegate duties

Distribute work orders

Provide leadership with reference to on-site safety requirements

Qualifications:

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification

Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses

High level of technical experience, dedication to safety, and the willingness and ability to instruct others

Team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Previous CAT general line experience and computer proficiency would be considered assets

Note:

This position will work a 14x14 continuous shift rotation, based at the Mildred Lake Shop D06 facility.

Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
