Compensation:
$66,240 - $79,488
Work Schedule:
8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday (Onsite)
General Summary:
Under the direction of the assistant director, Member Education, Engagement and Outreach, research, implement and present group education programs for State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio) members and recipients.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Plan, present and facilitate educational programs, workshops and seminars on pension and retirement related topics for active members, retirees, and stakeholder groups. Requires travel approximately 50% of the time, with some overnights necessary.
Conduct research to identify emerging financial wellness and retirement topics for program content that meets the evolving needs of members. All in accordance with the STRS Ohio mission statement.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with employer human resources professionals, district contacts and other partners to support outreach engagement efforts.
Identify educational needs of specific districts or member groups and recommend appropriate delivery methods, tools and program structures.
Participate, lead or complete special projects or duties as assigned.

Summary of Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications, public administration or a related field is desired, however, an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 5 years of experience in employee benefits, retirement planning, adult education or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Knowledge of public pension plans or retirement systems is strongly preferred.
Marketing experience preferred.
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts required.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment while meeting deadlines with minimal direct supervision required.
Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality and the ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet business needs. Evening, weekend and non-regular work hours may be required.
