As our Drywall & Insulation Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing competitive, clear, and complete cost estimates for upcoming projects. You'll collaborate with clients, general contractors, and internal teams to ensure our bids are accurate, timely, and aligned with our commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from drawings and job sites

Use tools such as PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam

Identify plan discrepancies and missing info early

Estimate material, labor, overhead, and subcontractor costs

Prepare clear, professional bid packages and proposals

Stay current on local market pricing, building codes, and rating requirements

Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and clients to clarify the scope

Attend site visits or pre-bid walkthroughs as needed

Flag potential cost risks, build in contingencies

Support smooth project handoff to field teams

Manage multiple bids and deadlines with precision

Qualifications

Experience in estimating drywall and insulation projects (residential or commercial)

Familiarity with Canadian building codes, especially in BC

Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents

Skilled in digital takeoff and estimating software

Strong written and verbal communication skills

A collaborative, detail-driven mindset

Local knowledge of Nanaimo, Duncan, Courtenay, or the surrounding areas is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Full time position

Competitive compensation at $70,000 to $100,000, based on experience
