Winder Operator-Base

Job Description

FUNCTION:

Operates a standard Forming winding compliment to produce a continuous silver. Performs proper scanning procedure(s)

DUTIES:

1. Performs proper scanning procedure(s) while operating winding machine compliment.

2. Inspects doff tubes and handles any occurrences (including but not limited to, breaks, call-downs, package build, etc.).

3. Places tubes on to the forming tube carrier per nomenclature and tube color.

4. Audits and notifies appropriate personnel of any quality and / or equipment problems, writes and follows up

5. Operates computer utilizes various software programs to accomplish goals (including but not limited to process audits, maintenance requests, MES, etc.).

6. Acts as a team member and cooperates with Fiber Operator to achieve maximum efficiency (including but not limited to controlling down time, yardage, safety, quality, runability, etc.).

7. Visually inspects, adjusts and replaces spirals and quick disconnect pull rolls.

8. Performs in line package weighing for yardage control

9. Procures packing material from designated surge area. Visually inspects and ensures proper weight and packs (including but not limited to shippable forming packages, wet chop, etc.)

10. Operates material handling devices (including but not limited to floor jacks, overhead lifts, etc.)

11. Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant

12. Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by Management

Must be able to pass work keys testing:.Graphic Literacy 4 or higher, Workplace Documentation 4 or higher and Workplace Observation 2 or higher.
