Scope/Position Summary

The speech language pathologist is part of a multidisciplinary team effort to provide appropriate care to the patient. Upon referral, the speech language pathologist will assess patients and establish plans of care together with the patient and other team members. Provide a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of the discipline. Provide education and support to patients and families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Although the speech language pathologist reports directly to the director, the therapist is also responsible to assure coordination of services and programs with other team members and other participants of patient care activities (including attending and resident physicians, nurses and their support staff, and Patient Care Resource Managers). A team member embraces the Intensive Caring values of the organization (Caring, Respect, Excellence, Service, and Teamwork) and uses them to guide interactions with others. Position located at University Hospitals East.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. License to practice speech pathology in the State of Ohio. Valid Certificate of Clinical Competency issued by ASHA or currently completing Clinical Fellowship Year.
