Who We’re Looking For

Experience: Minimum 5-years of experience working within a childcare centre.

Education:

Diploma (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education and Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing; and

University degree in a related field preferred but not required.Certifications:

Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR

Proof of COVID-19 VaccinationsSkills:

Experience in coaching, mentoring and facilitating adult education

In-depth knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?

In-depth knowledge of the CECE Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

Conflict resolution and problem solving skills

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite; and

Knowledge of inclusion principles as they relate to early childhood educationCharacteristics:

Strong coaching and mentoring skills

Support pedagogical programming in an every-changing and evolving environment;

Strong written and verbal communication and strong oral presentation skills;

Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines

An advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion

Key Responsibilities:

Guide and mentor supervisors and educators to align their programs and practices with provincial pedagogy;

Plan and deliver continuous professional learning and development in programming, pedagogy and pedagogical documentation;

Establish and maintain professional relationships with early year’s community partners;

Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with any applicable community organizations;

Guide supervisors and educators in working with children with diverse abilities; and

Provide strategies and resources to support each child’s unique skill-set.
