About the Job
We are seeking an Automation QA Engineer to join our development team supporting DoD computerized testing projects across our Alexandria VA, Monterey CA, and San Diego CA locations. The primary focus is building and maintaining automated test frameworks using Java/Eclipse/Selenium while modernizing existing TestComplete test suites. You will integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensure compliance with DoD security standards.
As an Automation QA Engineer, you will:
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Java, Eclipse, and Selenium WebDriver
Convert existing TestComplete test scripts to Java/Selenium framework using AI-assisted tools and manual refactoring
Design and implement automated test suites for web applications, APIs, and database validation
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Execute automated regression, integration, and performance testing in AWS/Azure cloud environments
Collaborate with development teams in a matrix organization structure to ensure testability and quality
Maintain test data management strategies and automated test reporting dashboards
Perform security testing validation against DoD standards including NIST, RMF, and DoD CC SRG
Support load and performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
Document test automation processes, frameworks, and best practices
Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain testing artifacts in Jira and Confluence
Mentor team members on automation best practices and emerging testing technologies
Requirements:
US Citizen with ability to obtain T3 Public Trust clearance
Work on-site at one of our locations: Alexandria VA, Monterey CA, San Diego CA, Louisville KY, or Minneapolis MN, (up to 2 days remote after probation period)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
3-5 years of experience in test automation and quality assurance
Strong proficiency in Java programming and Eclipse IDE
Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application testing
Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration and automated testing workflows
Knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies and version control systems (Git)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization technologies
Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills in matrix organizational structures
Security+ certification required within 3-6 months of hire
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Experience with TestComplete and script conversion/migration projects
Knowledge of AI-assisted code conversion tools and techniques
Experience with DoD contracts and federal security compliance standards
Familiarity with API testing frameworks (REST Assured, Postman)
Knowledge of database testing and SQL
Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code
The anticipated salary for this role is $93,000 to $115,000. Specific salary offers are based on candidate qualifications and experience.
