Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Research Assistant for the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, assist in single-molecule biophysical analysis of force-producing enzymes. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Prepare samples and carry out single-molecule biophysical assays on force-producing enzymes. Daily maintenance of various cell cultures. Maintain custom-built instrumentation for optical and magnetic tweezers. Use and improve custom-written LabVIEW and MATLAB scripts for data acquisition and analysis. General molecular biology and recombinant protein preparation. Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records. Perform statistical analyses of research data.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of lab research experience is highly preferred, but is not required. experience with MATLAB and/or LabVIEW. Experience with biophysical techniques.
