The Department of Emergency Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Data Analyst to support the academic, clinical, and financial operations of the department. This role will collaborate with leadership to collect and analyze operational data, providing metrics and insights that support decision-making and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency medicine services. The Data Analyst will focus on generating data-driven insights to enhance performance, streamline processes, and optimize outcomes across the department. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data system to track and analyze academic and clinical performance within the Department of Emergency Medicine. Collaborate with department leadership to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to improve academic performance, service delivery, and efficiency. Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets using tools like Epic SlicerDicer, PowerBI (or Tableau), and Excel to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Create and maintain regular reports and dashboards using PowerBI (or Tableau) to monitor departmental performance and operational outcomes. Utilize data systems to extract, analyze, and present data in ways that optimize academic and operational processes. Support quality improvement initiatives by providing data-driven recommendations for optimizing processes and patient care
