Job Title: CNC Machinist
Division: VNW (Everett)

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Position Purpose
• Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the CNC Machinist is
responsible creating CNC programs and machining instructions required to create parts
and tools on CNC equipment.
• As the subject matter expert, they are responsible to train CNC operators for production in
the safe use and proper care of machining and CNC equipment and in the proper use of the
CNC programs, work instructions, and fixtures created to meet particular job specifications
using that equipment.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Create CNC programs and fixture for the CNC mills and routers. This includes basic
operation and setup to detailed programming and troubleshooting.
• Produce parts in accordance with current standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.
• Provide on-going training and feedback to the operations team.
• Support of new business development on new opportunities requiring machining.
• Performs routine review of equipment, tools, and work area to ensure the operations group
can successfully meet the production requirements.
• 5S and Continuous Improvement of the machining work cells.
Qualification Guidelines
• Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure
Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export
Administration Regulations)
Job Requirements
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
• Must have basic knowledge of Surface cam or Solidworks
• Advanced computer skills (word, Excel, Outlook) are required: experience with Epicor
preferred
• Proper use of metrology equipment
• Must be able to read and understand work instructions, build books, and other work related documents in the English language
• Requires at least a high school diploma and 5-6 years of CNC machining and programing
experience
Environmental Condition
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical
parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The
noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable
