Position Summary:
The River City Grille Server is responsible for providing guests with an exceptional dining experience by delivering prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable food and beverage service in a hotel restaurant setting. This role ensures guest satisfaction through attention to detail, timely service, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests promptly and warmly, escort them to tables when necessary.
Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
Process guest payments accurately (cash, credit, room charge).
Set up, clean, and reset tables according to restaurant standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas.
Adhere to hotel and restaurant policies, health and safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Communicate effectively with kitchen and other team members.
Upsell menu items and promote hotel services when appropriate.
Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism or escalate to supervisor as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Familiarity with POS systems and basic math for handling payments.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift trays or items up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for serving and carrying trays.
Full-time
